Wave 2 Freediver - Advanced

The Wave 2 Freediver course is our advanced course designed to bring you down to 30 meters (100 ft) on one breath. With advanced equalisation techniques, and mastering new disciplines you will learn the "freefall" in freediving. In this course you will practice the dolphin kick and no fins technique, as well as additional deep rescues and advanced safety drills.

Prerequisites

  • 18 years of age (16 with parental consent)

  • Comfortable in an open water setting

  • Wave 1 Certificate or similar experience

  • Cross-over evaluation available 

  • Sign medical questionnaire and liability forms

What you will learn

  • Physiology, physics and biochemistry of depth

  • Advanced Frenzel equalization

  • Deep breathing techniques & lung stretching

  • Monofin and no-fins techniques 

  • To dive to -30m (-100ft) on one breath

  • Breath-hold of 3 minutes in static 

  • Mental training techniques 

  • Use of freediving equipment

  • Advanced safety & rescue skills

Passing requirements

  • 2:30min static breath-hold (confined water)

  • Open water dive in FIM (pulling line) to 24-30m

  • Open water dive in CTWB (bi-fins) to 24-30m

  • Open water dive in CNF (no fins) to 15m

  • Open water buddying/safety from 10-15m

  • Open water depth rescue from 10-15m
