Wave 2 Instructor Course - Pro

Welcome to the Molchanovs Professional Team. The Wave 2 Instructor Course (W2I) is the highest teaching standard of freediving education worldwide. You are a Wave 3 Freediver, a Wave 4 Competitor (or similar equivalence) looking to become a teacher, coach and educator. In this course we will teach you all the advanced skills of a -50 meter freediver and how to teach, break down concepts and skills for your students.

Prerequisites

  • 18 years of age (16 with parental consent)

  • Excellent open water swimmer

  • Deep knowledge of freediving gear and knots

  • Wave 3 Certificate or equivalent 

  • Cross-over evaluation available 

  • Active first aid certificate and CPR certificate

  • Sign medical questionnaire and liability form

  • 9-10 days of diving and experience

  • 4:1 maximum student to instructor ratio 

  • 1300 $USD per person

  • Payment options: Wise Transfer (Euro, USD), cash or credit card (additional fees apply)

Passing requirements

  • 4:00min static breath-hold (confined water)

  • Open water dive in FIM (pulling line) to 40m

  • Open water dive in CTWB (bi-fins) to 40m

  • Open water dive in CNF (no fins) to 30m

  • Open water buddying/safety from 25m

  • Open water depth rescue from 25m

  • Surface tow post depth-rescue of 50m

  • Deep retrieval rescue at 35m

  • DYNB of 100m in the pool

  • DNF of 60m in the pool

  • CO2 dives + 1 minute stand-by dive

  • Mouthful (MF), FRC and RV dive techniques

Additional requirements

  • Attend all classroom sessions & workshops

  • Pass both the entry and the final exam

  • Lead a warmup session, yoga and breathwork

  • Lead equalization training (RP vs. MF)

  • Pass 2 classroom presentations

  • Pass one dry skill presentation

  • Pass 2 confined water skill presentations

  • Pass 2 open water skill presentations

  • Access to on-site accommodation (not included)

  • Fine local cuisine at our restaurant (not included)
